BUSH THROWS IT BACK 20 YEARS WITH A GREAT PERFORMANCE AT BEST BUY THEATER

L.A.’s Stars In Stereo kicked off a stellar night of rock & roll at Best Buy Theater Tuesday night. This four-piece powerhouse set the bar high.  The band is fronted by sexy Bec Hollcraft on vocals (and some guitar), Jordan McGraw on guitar, Frogs McCormack on bass and Drew Langan bangin’ the drums. These guys really primed the crowd with their pop tainted hard rock å la – Paramore, The Pretty Reckless, and Halestorm.  Check out their website to see their new censored or uncensored video for Leave Your Mark or for more info on their upcoming third album.

Next up was Theory of a Deadman. With Tyler Connolly on vocals and guitar, Dave Brenner on guitar, Dean Beck on bass and Joey Dandeneau on drums. The Canadian rockers ripped through the hits from most of their five albums including, Lowlife, Not Meant To Be and Drown, before closing the show with the mega-hit Bad Girlfriend. I really loved the guitar that Connolly finished the show with. It appeared to be a custom airbrushing of a Jerry Garcia-type figure flicking off the world surrounded by quotes such as “Hate Life,” “My boss is a DICK,” and “There’s NO end in sight.”

Capping off the night, Bush tore the place down. You’d never guess these guys have been going at it for twenty three years. Singer/guitarist Gavin Rossdale jumped around the stage from note one, working up a nice sweat before the end of the third song. Rounding out the current line up was Robin Goodridge on drums, Chris Traynor on guitar and Cory Britz on bass. It was a well rounded show, playing all the classics you’d expect to hear as well as some tunes off the new album Man on the Run. Hits included “Everything Zen,” “The Chemicals Between Us,” “Swallowed and “Little Things.” The twenty-song set ended with a rocking encore of “Machinehead,” a Talking Heads cover of “Once in a Lifetime,” “Glycerine,” and “Comedown.”

If you get the chance, I would definitely check out this awesome three band line-up…and don’t be late! You won’t want to miss a note.
