At the age of 17, Swedish-artist Zara Larsson has already topped charts in both Sweden and Norway, and she’s been making her way to the U.S. on label Epic Records. Her music reminiscent of AlunaGeorge and Rihanna, if they had a glorious pop-child together. No stranger to the stage, Larsson has been performing since the age of 10, winning (and almost winning) several televised Swedish talent competitions.
This Tuesday night, she performed an intimate show at her Epic Records’ showcase at Sonos in NYC. Although the singer only performed two songs, they made a huge impact. Illuminated by bright pink lights, Larsson began with “Never Forget You,” a single she released earlier this year with Grammy-nominated artist MNEK. Finishing with “Lush Life,” her second number 1 single in Sweden (and four times platinum), Larsson showed off her impressive vocal range and control.
In January of this year, she also released her third album the titled “Uncover.” If her success explodes as profoundly as it did in Sweden, you’ll be sure to hear Zara Larsson’s name very soon.
