Festival season may be picking up, but we’ve got a batch of Pancake Picks as fresh as Northside, as hot and sticky as Bonnaroo, and as gooey and messy as Governors Ball. Dig in and get a taste of the best shows this week.

 

Monday

Outer Borough Brass Band @ Brooklyn Bowl – Not only can you kick off your week with all the power of a local horn section – but entry is free before 7pm. Head to Brooklyn Bowl tonight to catch the Outer Borough Brass Band and get Monday-funky.

 

Tuesday

Kings County Ramblers @ Rockwood Stage 1 – Tuesday’s a great day to enjoy some local bluegrass, so hit Rockwood Stage 1. Brooklyn’s Kings County Ramblers are playing and are sure to put on a good one.

 

Minor Victories @ Music Hall of Williamsburg – British alt-rock supergroup Minor Victories are playing MHOW, fresh off the release of their newest self-titled full-length. The group is made up of members from Editors, Slowdive, and Mogwai.

 

Wednesday

Mutual Benefit + Florist @ Mercury Lounge – Jordan Lee’s ever-changing project, Mutual Benefit, has been surprising the indie rock scene for a few years now and just released the new single “Getting Gone.” They’ll be joined by Florist on Wednesday at Mercury Lounge.

 

Thursday

SOAK @ Rough Trade – Bridie Monds-Watson, aka SOAK, is an Irish singer-songwriter who has been praised for her deep indie folk music. She’ll be playing Rough Trade on Thursday, and fans can expect to hear some new singles peppered into her performance.

 

Friday

Pissed Jeans @ the Knitting Factory – For some hardcore, noisy punk rock, the Knitting Factory is the place to be on Friday night. Head that way to catch Pissed Jeans, who’ll be getting loud alongside Lydia Lunch Retrovirus and Richard Papiercuts.

 

Broncho + Winter @ the Bowery Ballroom – Oklahoma indie rock outfit, Broncho, are playing the Bowery Ballroom this Friday with opening act Winter. Get ready to hear new material from Broncho’s latest full-length release, Double Vanity.

 

Saturday

Awolnation + Death From Above 1979 @ The Stone Pony Summer Stage – What a combo. Awolnation and Death From Above 1979 are both slated to rock the Stone Pony Summer Stage this Saturday. Don’t miss out!

 

Sunday

Bill Callahan + Sunwatchers @ Baby’s All Right – Bill Callahan, who you may also know as Smog, will be bringing his bro of alt country rock to Baby’s All Right. Joining him will be local “freak-jazz” band Sunwatchers for a diversified show on Sunday night.
