We receive hundreds of submissions a week to premiere videos and songs, so it’s really easy to tell when something stands out from the crowd. Vernier’s new video for “Trouble” definitely drew us in instantly with its breathy lyrics and guitar notes that bounce off each other perfectly. The video which was filmed in black and white, while simple, is the perfect vehicle for this tune and reminds us that sometimes it’s good to embrace trouble every once in awhile.
Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Vernier has been playing music for awhile now and has worked with the likes of James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins and more while perfecting her chops in the great North. You also may know her as half of the “folk-pop-rock” duo called Domestic Crisis Group, who are currently on hiatus. No matter her musical past, we are excited for her future and can’t wait to hear more of her grungy pop-ditties like “Trouble.”
