ANDERS OSBORNE EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS AT BROOKLYN BOWL

It was a chilly night in Brooklyn, but things quickly heated up inside Brooklyn Bowl.   Anders Osborne was playing his first of two shows.  Opening for him this night was Cris Jacobs.  The Baltimore native filled the room with his soulful voice and his funky/bluesy guitar, eventually pulling out his cigar box lap steel guitar.

I was excited to finally get a chance to see Anders Osborne.  I had missed his shows with one of my favorite bands, North Mississippi Allstars.  I’ll let you know, he exceeded expectations.  Born in Sweden before settling in New Orleans, he was heavily influenced by the blues.  You can hear this influence as well as rock, reggae, and R&B in his live show.  He and his band will be back in the area in February and I will definitely be taking some friends to one of these shows, as I know they will appreciate his incredible guitar skills.  Check out his website for show info or to download his new album, Flower Box.
