VIDEO PREMIERE: “WEEKEND” BY BOTTLER

Being that Bottler has only been a band for a handful of months and has only two singles thus far, we are excited to premiere the video for the second single, “Weekend,” today. The experimental, NYC pop-duo, consisting of Pat Butler and Phil Shore bring a distinct NYC vibe with the rolling and fuzzy tune; a sort of anxious, yet peppy, musical experience that we can appreciate living here. With hazy and almost unintelligible lyrics, the song is propelled by a thick layer of synths and an intuitive drum-accents that weave in and out of a sensible pop-beat.

“Weekend was directed by Ryan Van Do, a Philadelphia based filmmaker, director, and editor. We shot the video in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, which stars Pat’s sister Kristy Butler. She is a New York City based contemporary ballerina with the New Chamber Ballet, who has previously danced with Charlotte Ballet II, the corps of San Francisco Ballet, and internationally at Kunst am Spreeknie Festival and with the Romanian National Ballet. We’ve always been attracted to dance because of its immediacy. There’s this primal, almost antediluvian communication, happening during dance. We wanted to bypass the filter of context that music, particularly pop music, necessitates and get to the very heart of experience itself.” – Bottler
