JARRYD JAMES MAKES HIS NYC DEBUT AT THE BOWERY BALLROOM

Australia’s new R&B/Pop breakout star, Jarryd James, played to a packed Bowery Ballroom Monday night. This was just his second US show. The first was at Los Angeles’ Troubadour.

Supporting James for his New York City show was Brooklyn’s Secret Weapons. Apparently they’re not much of a secret because these guys had a crowd there early to see them. Their dance-rock set got the night off to a great start.

Jarryd James took the stage around 10pm to what looked like a nearly sold out crowd. After hearing him on Sirius XM’s The Spectrum as well as 107.1 The Peak’s radio stations, I knew I wanted to be at this show. In less than a year, James has released two chart topping singles in “Do You Remember” and “Give Me Something.” Both of these songs were included in his nine-song set.  He seemed almost humbled at the love and support shown by everyone on hand. I’m looking forward to hearing more of his soulful, falsetto voice on his soon to be released debut album titled “Thirty One” on Interscope Records.
