We’re digging the Vans Warped Tour 2016 lineup, and there are a few reasons for that. As many bands from former years make their return, the festival is also welcoming some up-and-coming acts who made a surprising splash onto the tour poster this year.
“Who would have thought that we would be still bringing you the Vans Warped Tour in 2016?” said tour founder Kevin Lyman. Believe it or not, this year marks the 22nd edition of the festival, and fans are more excited than ever to see what Vans and Journeys have in store. “Each year I look forward to the summer and the chance to tour with so many old friends and hopefully some new ones,” he said.
Both of those groups are well represented in the lineup, which was just released to the public in late March. Warped Tour returns to their roots as they welcome back fan favorites like New Found Glory, Tonight Alive, Less Than Jake, Yellowcard, We The Kings, Sleeping With Sirens, Reel Big Fish, Pepper, and 3OH!3, among others. In addition, they’re giving some extra exposure to newer bands like State Champs, Like Pacific, In Hearts Wake, Capsize, and From Ashes to New, which is awesome. We’re also pumped to see a few of our local favorites lined up (hell yea, Mother Feather!).
But what surprised and impressed many was the tour’s inclusion of some heavier music, specifically what’s happening in this year’s Monster Energy Party Zone. This portion of the festival will bring fans two stages of hardcore and heavy metal acts, including Atreyu, Every Time I Die, Motionless In White, The Color Morale, Chelsea Grin, Bullet For My Valentine, and many more.
