P&W PRESENTS: KITTEN & FRANCES ROSE ROCK SOHO HOUSE

Saturday night saw another edition of private but packed shows at the Soho House curated by Pancakes and Whiskey. The headliner was one of my favorite secret bands Kitten. They (frontwoman Chloe Chaidez and band) have been on the scene for several years, rocking out small stages with incredible energy. However, they are a secret no more. With their recent single “I Did It” making some moves and a new record recently completed, Kitten is touring the country, looking to make noise from coast to coast.

Opening for Kitten was local favorites Frances Rose. The sister duo of Sarah Frances and Michelle Rose have been a fixture in the local indie dance pop scene. While some in the audience had to be coaxed forward, others were dancing and singing along to their favorites.  Mine were last year’s singles “Read My Body” and “Dangerous.”

When Kitten hit the stage, Chaidez ran onto the stage to huge cheers. This is one band that seems to be getting better every time I see them. Maybe it’s because they feel a bit like a jam band, creating something new each time. This show was no exception. How can you not have a great time when the band is having so much fun?
